Kent 4 Day Short Break Tuesday 26th March 2019

Pick up points in: Bristol & Swindon.

A great value 4 day short break exploring Kent, the 'Garden of England'.

DAY ONE
We depart Bristol and head east. Our first stop is Brooklands Museum. It is situated on the site of the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit and houses collections of cars, motorcycles and bicycles, particular from the heyday of the track until it closed in 1939. The museum displays a wide range of Brooklands-related motoring and aviation exhibits ranging from giant racing cars, motorcycles and bicycles, to an impressive collection of aircraft including Concorde. We continue to our hotel with time to relax before dinner is served.

DAY TWO
Today we visit somewhere you may recognise from a long running TV series. Historic Dockyard Chatham is the setting for Call The Midwife and offers a fascinating day out. It is one of Britain’s leading maritime heritage destinations and the world’s most complete dockyard from the ‘age of sail’. Explore over 80 acres featuring a WWII warship, a Cold War submarine, Victorian ropery and vast historical collections. On our return to the hotel you may wish to enjoy some of the hotel’s facilities before dinner is served.

DAY THREE

The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is our first destination today. Royal Tunbridge Wells lies in the heart of the beautiful High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has welcomed visitors for over 400 years. It is most famous for the historic Pantiles featuring chic shopping opportunities and Chalybeate Spring where you can ‘take the waters’. We then continue to the splendid thirteenth century Hever Castle, once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. You may wish to obtain lunch on arrival before enjoying the castle, gardens and grounds. We return to our hotel in time for dinner.

DAY FOUR
We say farewell to Kent this morning and commence the homeward journey west. En-route we pay a visit to The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), where all officers in the British Army are trained to take on the responsibility of leading their fellow soldiers.
A guided tour of the site and grounds will be given before continuing to Longacres Garden Centre for lunch. We continue our homeward journey to Swindon/Bristol arriving in the early evening.
